Description
Penfolds Grange Hermitage 1983 Magnum
The Penfolds Grange Hermitage 1983 Magnum is regarded not only as Australia’s most famous Shiraz but also as the country’s most iconic wine.
An extraordinary season marked by heat, drought, fires, and then floods resulted in small yields of wines with great concentration and long aging potential.
In 1990, this 1983 Grange was rated 92/100 points by Robert Parker, while Max Schubert described it as “very big and concentrated” in 1993.
Due to rigorous fruit selection, the production of this Grange vintage was significantly smaller than usual.
Carefully cellared in optimal conditions, it has been allowed to age beautifully, preserving and enhancing the expression of its exceptional quality.
